Strange summer I had in this 2009. Last year I worked on July, August and September, 8 hours a day, surrounded by the beautiful city of Vienna and its unpredictable weather... This time I practically stayed at home the whole time, except for 10 nice days of work-holyday near Naples.
But it was a summer of concerts - and WHAT concerts!

June 28: Gods of Metal (Tarja, Blind Guardian and Dream Theater)
July 7: U2 (already said something here: [link])
18-25 July: Alla Bua, Bandabardò, Giusy Ferreri, Malika Ayane, Cesare Cremonini (many just because they were for free during Giffoni Film Festival [link] )
various dates: Carmen, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Tosca at Arena di Verona
9 August: Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio ( [link] )

So I'm starting now to upload my best photos... I swear I'll try not to overload you messages folder
First act: U2, since yesterday they landed in Chicago for the first date of the USA leg. I must say than after this concert I returned U2-addicted like when I first discovered them. No Line on the Horizon had already made me realize how dull their previous 2000s works were, but the concert (and the fansites and forums) blew me away. My family can't stand me anymore XD

And so, after more than a year, I've finished to submit what I think are the best picture of my Vienna 2008 experience. I can't say I'm satisfied, I had to leave out many things and let others in that maybe aren't so great... But I gathered a good number of new watchers, and this is important for me (thanks! ). I think I'll stop annoying you for a while... Then at last it will be time for this year's concert photos, with a decent lens. Thanks for your patience, and please give your meaning about them!

Alla fine ce l'ho fatta, finalmente, anche se in certi casi è passato più di un anno dal primo scatto. Ho cercato di rompere il meno possibile ma mettendo meno di 12 foto per volta ci avrei messo un'era e mezzo (parto pur sempre da 3000 foto, scremate a circa 300 su flickr). In realtà non mi soddisfano tantissimo, ma erano anche le prime fatte con la 400D quindi sono *quasi* scusabile. Fa sempre piacere vedere che sono apprezzate, anche se i commenti continuano a latitare Adesso per un po' toglierò il disturbo... Prima di tornare con le foto dei concerti di quest'estate, di cui sono abbastanza fiera (evviva il 55-250 IS!)

Ok, time to begin with some other kind of photos from the Vienna experience. Music and citylife are about to come, hope you'll enjoy them!

When I'll be done with them I'll post my newest pictures here; meanwhile you can see them on [link] Taken at the Gods of Metal in Monza (Tarja Turunen, Blind Guardian, Dream Theater) and... at the first U2 date in San Siro, Milan! My first pictures with the Canon 55-250 IS, and I'm totally satisfied! What about the concerts? Tarja was really nice and her voice on stage is faithful to the recordings - plus, she loves making such strange expressions . Blind Guardian are some happy, still rocking middle-aged men, and Dream Theater are something that goes beyond anything else, a festival exhibition makes no justice at all.

And U2... It's been 4 days from the concert, but I still can't think about anything else. The Claw ([link]), that incredible stage between an UFO and an octopus, as high as the stadium... And their smiles, Bono's voice and LED jacket, Adam's white hair, The Edge and his falsetto, Larry's djembé during a crazy disco version of "Crazy tonight"... Call them hypocrites, millionaires, old men with no more creativity... I wish the younger people in the music industry were just half the way they are now. Coldplay are growing up good, but there's still a long, long road to let that "unforgettable fire" burn with them.

Scusate, avevo voglia di un po' di inglese Vi invito a vedere le mie ultime foto su [link] , prima o poi riuscirò a metterle anche qui. Gods of Metal (28/06) e il primo concerto a S. Siro degli U2. A quattro giorni di distanza, mi sento come nella pubblicità della Costa Crociere (contribuisce il fatto di avere l'ultimo esame lunedì -.-). Però andare a vederli è qualcosa che va fatto nella vita (prima che muoiano, visto come vanno le cose ultimamente). Si parla di Vienna e Roma per il 2010... Potrei fare una pazzia, ma credo che ci sarò
E al diavolo il comitato di San Siro! (da cui il titolo del post, scritto sui monitor agli ingressi dello stadio)

PS: ho provato a mettere i watermark, secondo voi sono troppo fastidiosi o va bene?

Approfitto di un buco tra un esame e l'altro per mettere un po' di foto, alcune ormai vecchie di un anno. Come avevo accennato nel journal sulla Spagna, l'estate 2008 l'ho passata a Vienna, lavorando, scarpinando e litigando con la 400D e il suo obbiettivo-pezzo di plastica. Alla fine sono venute qualcosa come 3000 foto (già selezionate! )... Molte le ho messe su flickr ([link]) per illustrare il blog aperto per l'occasione ([link] , ora tristemente abbandonato). Nelle prossime settimane tenterò di mettere qui una super-selezione divisa per temi. Spero che apprezzerete

Hi there,

I know I haven't been posting anything for a long time. At first I wanted to come back with my photos from Vienna (I worked there 3 months during summer '08), but I was forced to give up for now, I really can't select less than 50 pictures to post Digital photography is driving me mad!
